I believe that everyone can become emotionally resilient and learn how to manage anxiety and stress. My own transformation inspired me to leave a 28-year career as a corporate executive to create Beliefs Transformed in 2019, with a mission to help young women learn to manage and transform anxiety and stress to feel better and pursue their goals with confidence. Before I learned how to manage my anxiety and negative self-talk, I accepted that thoughts of doubt and unworthiness were just a part of life. Now I know it doesn’t have to be.
In the end, it wasn’t one “silver bullet”. Rather with a simple combination of things that I could do on my own, I went from having constant fearful and self-limiting thoughts that created anxiety making me feel exhausted and physically depleted, to feeling emotionally balanced and energized. I trust and believe in myself. I now pursue my goals in life and nurture my relationships with greater confidence.
I still experience anxiety and stress. The difference is they no longer over-shadow my life. I'm able to acknowledge my emotions, bounce back faster and move forward.
My intention is to pass on what I wish I learned in my 20’s: Transforming anxiety and stress; becoming emotionally resilient can be learned in a few simple steps.

Welcome! My Name is Susan.
For the majority of my life, I was plagued by thoughts of doubt and unworthiness. It didn’t matter whether it was school, work or relationships. The beliefs that I wasn't good enough or was undeserving ran quietly in the background of my mind, touching every part of my life.
On the surface, I appeared confident and capable. For over 20-years, I successfully navigated my career in business and quickly rose up the corporate ladder to executive level positions, managing teams of up to 200 people in a field where there were few women at the time. On the inside, I was overwhelmed and anxious with self-defeating beliefs. Even when I achieved my goals, I couldn't appreciate them. I was always worried — weighed down by thoughts like, “I should’ve done better” or “My achievements aren’t going to last”.
After two failed marriages and years in a career that compounded my stress, I hit a turning point. The constant anxiety and stress started taking a toll on my health. For the second time in a decade, I was hospitalized with a major infection that my body was struggling to fight. While the doctors tried to figure out if sepsis was setting in, I dealt with an unrelenting pain and a fever of 105 degrees. I was so weak; I couldn’t get out of bed. I spent two weeks in the hospital. When I was finally on the mend, the nurse said, “This is the type of thing that could kill you.”
I knew I couldn’t continue living this way. So began my search to discover how to better manage and overcome anxiety and stress instead of ignoring it or accepting it as a part of life.
In the beginning, I didn’t even know where to start. I tried a lot of things over the course of several years. Traditional approaches like talk-therapy and alternatives like meditation and hypnosis. It took time to discover what did and didn’t work for me, but I finally figured it out. In the end, it wasn't one "silver bullet". I trust and believe in myself. I now pursue my goals in life and nurture my relationships with greater confidence.
